Matilda

Roald Dahl (1916–1990) was a renowned British author and fighter pilot known for dark, whimsical children's classics like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda. Born in Wales to Norwegian parents, his life included tragedy, wartime injury, and a career writing for both children and adults. His legacy is celebrated for his imaginative, often subversive storytelling.

Roald Dahl's Matilda (1988) tells the story of a brilliant, neglected young girl with telekinetic powers who rebels against her abusive parents and a tyrannical headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Matilda, a child prodigy, uses her intellect and powers to protect her kindly teacher, Miss Honey, eventually finding a loving home with her.
